Investment and Trading Disclaimer
1. Please Read This First
STRATEGY LAB AI IS NOT AN INVESTMENT ADVISER, BROKER-DEALER, FINANCIAL PLANNER, COMMODITY TRADING ADVISOR, OR FIDUCIARY. NOTHING ON THIS WEBSITE OR IN ANY RELATED SERVICE IS INVESTMENT, FINANCIAL, TAX, ACCOUNTING, OR LEGAL ADVICE, A RECOMMENDATION, OR AN OFFER OR SOLICITATION TO BUY OR SELL ANY SECURITY, CRYPTOCURRENCY, OR OTHER FINANCIAL INSTRUMENT. INVESTING AND TRADING INVOLVE SUBSTANTIAL RISK, INCLUDING THE RISK OF LOSING MORE THAN YOU INVEST. NO RESULT, RETURN, OR PROFIT IS GUARANTEED OR PROMISED.
This Investment and Trading Disclaimer (the "Disclaimer") applies to the website at strategylabai.net and every related page, feature, tool, report, alert, notification, email, and API (together, the "Service"), operated by Strategy Lab AI, a business with its principal place of business in Salem, Massachusetts ("Strategy Lab AI," "we," "us," or "our"). It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund and Cancellation Policy. By accessing or using the Service you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Disclaimer.
2. What the Service Is
The Service is a software and information product. It provides general, impersonal research tools and published content, including:
- Strategy research and backtesting — tools that generate, test, score, and log rule-based trading strategies against historical market data;
- Company reports — automated summaries of publicly available company data, some of which is written by an artificial intelligence model;
- Portfolio tracking and AI-assisted portfolio tools — tools that let you record your own hypothetical or real holdings and generate example portfolios from a plain-language description (referred to in the Service as "A-TAMP," the Automated Trading Analysis & Monitoring Platform);
- Trade Signals and notifications — automated alerts generated when a strategy's pre-defined rules are met on a ticker you chose to watch; and
- Dashboards, briefings, charts, and related educational content.
The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. We do not know your finances, goals, or risk tolerance. Everything we publish is designed to be the same for any user who sets up the same inputs, and it is not tailored to your personal circumstances.
3. Not Investment Advice; No Advisory or Fiduciary Relationship
We are not registered as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Massachusetts Securities Division, or any other regulator, we are not a broker-dealer, and we do not hold ourselves out as such. We rely on the publisher's exclusion from the definition of "investment adviser" under applicable federal and state law to the extent it applies. Accordingly:
- Nothing in the Service is a personalized recommendation. We do not provide advice based on your specific investment situation, holdings, income, tax status, age, objectives, or risk tolerance.
- Using the Service does not create an advisory, fiduciary, brokerage, agency, or professional relationship between you and us.
- A "buy," "sell," "signal," "score," "rating," "approved" label, "rebalance," "proposed portfolio," "weight," or similar output is a mechanical result of a software model applied to data. It is not a recommendation that you take any action.
- We do not review your accounts, do not ask you to send them, and will not tell you what you personally should buy, sell, hold, or how much to allocate. Do not submit your personal financial details to us for that purpose, and do not treat any output as if we did.
- Our staff and our support channels cannot and will not answer questions asking what you should do with your own money.
If you need personalized advice, consult a licensed and registered investment adviser, broker, tax professional, or attorney who can consider your complete situation.
4. No Guarantee of Results; No Promise of Profit
- We do not guarantee, promise, or imply any profit, return, income, win rate, or absence of loss from using the Service.
- Any words such as "qualified," "approved," "winning," "best," or "high score" used in the Service, its marketing, or its names (including the name "A-TAMP") are product branding or descriptions of internal software test results. They are not statements about what you will earn.
- You can lose some or all of your money, and with leverage, short selling, options, futures, margin, or certain crypto products, you can lose more than you invest.
- Testimonials, examples, screenshots, and sample results, if shown, are not typical and do not predict your results.
5. Hypothetical, Simulated, and Backtested Results
HYPOTHETICAL AND SIMULATED PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE MANY INHERENT LIMITATIONS. NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFITS OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN. IN FACT, THERE ARE FREQUENTLY SHARP DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS AND THE ACTUAL RESULTS SUBSEQUENTLY ACHIEVED BY ANY PARTICULAR TRADING PROGRAM.
Much of the Service reports what a strategy would have done in the past or in a simulation. You should understand that:
- Simulated capital is not real money. The research environment uses a fictional starting balance of $100,000 ("Research Capital"). It is not an account, deposit, or property with any value, and results on it do not reflect how a real account of your size would perform; position sizes, liquidity, and market impact would differ.
- Backtests are built with hindsight. Strategies are designed, selected, and scored after the fact. Testing many variations and keeping those that look good creates "overfitting" and "selection bias," which can make results look far better than what will happen going forward. Our out-of-sample and walk-forward checks reduce, but do not eliminate, this risk.
- Past performance does not indicate future results. Markets change; a pattern that worked before may stop working without warning.
- Assumptions may be unrealistic. Simulations may not fully account for commissions, exchange and regulatory fees, bid/ask spreads, slippage, partial fills, borrowing costs for short positions, financing/margin interest, dividends, splits, delistings, taxes, halts, gaps, or order-execution delays. Real results are usually worse.
- Data is imperfect. Historical and live data may be delayed, incomplete, adjusted, revised, or wrong (see Section 8). A test that "passed" on flawed data proves nothing.
- No one experienced the results shown. Simulated results have no real-time decision-making, no emotional pressure, and no actual trades.
- Where a test ran on synthetic (generated) rather than real market data, it is labeled as such and is only a demonstration of the software.
6. Trade Signals, Alerts, and Notifications
Trade Signals and notifications are automated messages that a rule you or the software selected has been triggered by a price on a ticker. They are provided for information only.
- A signal is not an instruction, recommendation, or solicitation to trade and is not based on your finances or objectives.
- We do not place trades. We are not connected to your brokerage or exchange account and have no authority to trade for you. Any trade is your own decision, made through the platform of your choosing.
- Signals may be late, missed, duplicated, wrong, or never sent. Causes include data delays, third-party outages, scheduling limits (checks run periodically, not continuously), rate limits, browser/device restrictions, email or push failures, maintenance, and software bugs. Prices at which you can actually trade may differ materially from any price shown.
- Markets can move rapidly. Do not rely on the Service for time-sensitive decisions. Never depend on it as your only risk-management tool, and always use your own stop-loss and position-sizing judgment.
- "Confirming" a buy or sell inside the Service only updates your own tracking record. It does not execute an order anywhere.
7. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer
Parts of the Service use generative artificial intelligence, including large language models provided by third parties (currently Anthropic, PBC), to write company-report sections and to propose example portfolios. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI can produce incorrect, incomplete, outdated, biased, misleading, or fabricated content (sometimes called "hallucinations"), and can present it confidently. AI output may be different each time you run it.
- AI-written text (including SWOT analyses, "inference" bullets, commentary, rationales, and summaries) is not a factual statement about any company and may include speculation. We label some, but not necessarily all, inferences.
- AI has no knowledge of your situation, and a proposed portfolio or weight is a generic response to the words you typed and to a preset list of stocks. It is not a suitability determination.
- The selection list of securities the AI may choose from is a limited, preset universe. It is not a list of the best or safest investments, is not exhaustive, and its inclusion of a stock is not an endorsement.
- Some AI features consume paid third-party resources; the Service may limit or charge for them.
- Do not enter sensitive personal, account, or identity information into free-text AI fields. Text you type may be sent to our AI provider to produce the result (see the Privacy Policy).
You must independently verify anything material before relying on it.
8. Market Data and Third-Party Information
- Market prices, fundamentals, news, and other data come from third-party sources (currently Yahoo Finance) and public information. We do not control, audit, or warrant that data.
- Data may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, unavailable, adjusted, or discontinued at any time. Prices are not necessarily real-time and are not necessarily those at which trades can be executed.
- Third-party data may be subject to that provider's terms and is for your personal, non-commercial use only. It is not redistributable.
- Links to or references to third-party sites, brokers, or tools are for convenience and are not endorsements. We are not responsible for them.
- Ticker examples and symbols shown are illustrative. Mention of a company, security, sector, or cryptocurrency is not a recommendation.
9. Risks of Investing and Trading
You should understand these risks (this list is not complete):
- Market risk — prices can fall, sometimes suddenly and steeply.
- Loss of principal — you may lose your entire investment.
- Volatility and gap risk — prices can jump past your intended exit price.
- Liquidity risk — you may be unable to sell when or at the price you want.
- Leverage and margin risk — losses can exceed your deposit; you may owe more.
- Short-selling risk — theoretically unlimited loss; short squeezes; borrow recalls.
- Short-term and day trading risk — most active traders lose money after costs and taxes.
- Concentration risk — holding few positions increases loss potential.
- Cryptocurrency risk — extreme volatility, limited regulation, hacks, loss of keys, exchange failure, and total loss. Some digital assets may be securities or commodities under applicable law; we make no determination.
- Options, futures, and derivatives risk — complex; can lose more than the premium paid.
- Model risk — any quantitative model can be wrong, misspecified, or stop working.
- Operational and technology risk — outages, bugs, cyber-incidents, data errors, connectivity problems.
- Tax and regulatory risk — trading has tax consequences (for example short-term gains, wash-sale rules). We do not provide tax advice.
- Currency risk — if you view values in a different currency, displayed conversions are approximate.
- Inflation, interest-rate, political, and event risk.
10. Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your own investment and trading decisions and their results. By using the Service, you agree that you:
- make your own independent decisions and do not rely on the Service as the basis for any trade or investment;
- are responsible for evaluating whether any security, strategy, or trade is suitable for you;
- are responsible for all orders you place, all resulting gains or losses, and all fees and taxes;
- will do your own research, review official filings and disclosure documents, and consult qualified, licensed professionals before investing;
- will only risk money you can afford to lose;
- are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you, including securities, tax, and trading rules where you live;
- are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts;
- will not use the Service to trade on, or in violation of, material non-public information, or to manipulate any market; and
- understand that we have no responsibility to monitor your positions, warn you of losses, or stop you from trading.
11. Conflicts of Interest and Disclosures
Transparency about how we make money and where conflicts may arise:
- How we are paid. The Service is currently offered without charge. If and when paid plans launch, we will be paid through subscription or usage fees for access to the Service. We are not paid by any issuer or company to feature it.
- No transaction-based pay. We do not receive commissions or fees based on whether or how you trade. If we ever add broker referral links, we will disclose it clearly wherever they appear.
- Our positions. The owner(s), employees, contractors, and affiliates of Strategy Lab AI may own, buy, or sell securities or digital assets discussed in the Service, including before or after publishing, and may have positions that are contrary to a signal or opinion shown.
- Same output for similar inputs. We aim to deliver the same content to all users with the same inputs. We do not give some users preferential or early access to signals or reports. If a future paid tier ever differs in delivery speed or scope, we will disclose it here and on the pricing page.
- Affiliate and sponsored links. If a page includes a paid or affiliate link or sponsored content, it will be labeled as such. Today there are none.
12. Regulatory Statements
- Strategy Lab AI is not registered as an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or commodity trading advisor and is not a member of FINRA, SIPC, or the NFA.
- Accounts you hold with third-party brokers are governed by that broker's agreements, and are not protected by us. SIPC and FDIC protections, if any, do not cover investment losses.
- No securities regulator has approved or disapproved the Service or determined that this Disclaimer or any output is accurate or complete.
- Nothing in the Service is intended for or directed at any person or in any jurisdiction where its distribution or use would be contrary to law. It is offered only in jurisdictions where we may lawfully offer it, and you are responsible for compliance with local laws.
13. No Warranty; Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for any trading or investment loss, lost profits, or other damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or reliance on any content, signal, AI output, or data. These limits are described in the Terms of Service, which control in a dispute, and include any liability caps and exclusions stated there. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.
14. Forward-Looking and Opinion Statements
Statements about the future, and any commentary, ratings, scores, rankings, or "inference" content, are opinions or estimates based on assumptions that may prove wrong. They are not facts. We have no obligation to update them and may change them or our methodology at any time without notice. Content is dated and may be stale by the time you read it.
15. Changes; Contact; Acceptance
We may update this Disclaimer at any time; updates are effective when posted (with a new "Last Updated" date). Continued use after an update means you accept it. For questions, contact support@strategylabai.net or Strategy Lab AI, Salem, Massachusetts. Note: we cannot answer questions about what you should personally buy or sell.
